I’m Rich! …in Iron.

Power pose like you mean it. - Future Proof Movement
Nah, not the kind you lift πŸ‹πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ, the kind you eat! 🍴

One of our members brought up a good nutrition question today πŸ’‘. She wants to diversify her sources of iron. Her go-to is red meat and she doesn’t know where else to find iron.
Pause πŸ™‹πŸ½ What is the purpose of iron?

Well, to carry oxygen to your tissues, of course.
Ohhhh, okay.
Anyways, after further discussion, she happily discovered that: a) she is consuming more iron than she thought in food sources she believed to be iron-less and b) some other healthy options to add color and variety to her iron lineup.
Many of us also might be eating “hidden sources” of iron or desire to add variety into the mix. No matter your dietary preferences or restrictions, there are sources for you.
Here are some great sources of iron beyond red meat:
-Dark leafy greens such as spinach and swiss chard 🌿πŸ₯—
-Parsley 🌱
-White mushrooms πŸ„
-Lentils -Quinoa
– Nuts and seeds, particularly cashews and pepitas (pumpkin seeds) πŸŽƒ!
and last, but of course not least, our personal favorite, dark chocolate 🍫 (70% and up folks)…try Lily’s Dark Chocolate!

Bonus Tip 🎩: by pairing a source of vitamin C with iron, you can increase your iron absorption by up to 300%! And if you want that other awesome source of iron we first alluded to, simply schedule a free kinetic assessment with one of our personal trainers! The opportunity is at your fingertips. πŸ’ͺ🏻 Eat well, friends!
